KILDARE ROUTE PROJECT - UPDATE AUTUMN 2007

As of September 2007, the unnecessary project continues apace as IR waste taxpayers money hand over fist. Clondalkin station building is gone, Hayden's Lane, Lynches Lane and Stacumny bridges are gone and the 'unique' limekiln at Stacumny (word of the EIS) has been irrevocably damaged.

I look forward to the day when the executives of every business associated with this "project" such as Coffey Construction, are jailed for life for their part in screwing the Irish taxpayer.

Just remember, boys and girls, that the fact that you were following orders didn't work for the Nazis, it will not work for you either. In case the most corrupt police force in Western Europe is watching this site, let me give an analogy. On Christmas Day 1988, if a Romanian had called for the execution of the Ceaucescus, chances are he/she would have been punished by the establishment. A year later, the Ceaucescus were executed. All it takes to remove a State is for 5% of the State's citizens to stop co-operating.

Looking at the blurb on Pariah Rail's website (link below), the photos shown are not even on the line between Heuston Station and Hazelhatch (I think the upper photo may be Newbridge, some 15 miles away from the action and the other photo is of Pearse Station, Dublin, which is not served by the Kildare line - unfortunately). The blurb states "It will also deliver improved transport services in Kildare, Carlow and Laois." How? Currently the trains are already late by the time they reach Hazelhatch. Having extra lines from Hazelhatch in will do no good, unless what you are proposing is timetable padding.

Moving onto the second page (project update), this refers to "Cherryfield Junction". Where is this? Cherryville Junction is 2.5 miles beyond Kildare Station, but the four tracking stops after Hazelhatch. This page also refers to signalling improvements between Inchicore and Cherryville Junction. Nowhere in the railway order on www.transport.ie is this referenced. However, can I take it that IR are now admitting the underlying problem is actually signalling and therefore the four tracking is unnecessary? Of course, the reality of the situation is that the underlying problem is attitude.

This unnecessary project will do nothing to improve services because IR will continue to fail to maintain their rolling stock to approriate standards, leading to delays and breakdowns. IR will continue to treat their customers as an inconvenience to be bullied and threatened in this fascist, undemocratic State of theirs (I say theirs because it has long since ceased to be ours). It is time that the 80% of us not employed by the State put manners on the 20% who do.
